Terms of Service

Last updated: March 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using MedMenu ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time, and your continued use of the Service following any changes constitutes acceptance of those changes.

2. Important Medical Disclaimer

MedMenu does not provide medical advice.

The content provided through this Service, including but not limited to recipes, meal plans, nutritional information, dietary guidelines, and health-related suggestions, is for informational and educational purposes only. It is not intended to be a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

The creators and operators of MedMenu are not licensed physicians, dietitians, nutritionists, or healthcare providers. While we strive to present information that aligns with published dietary guidelines from recognized organizations (such as the American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, National Kidney Foundation, and others), this information should not be construed as medical advice.

Before making any dietary changes, you must consult with a qualified healthcare professional, particularly if you have any medical conditions, are taking medications, or have specific dietary requirements. Your healthcare provider can evaluate your individual circumstances and provide personalized guidance appropriate for your health needs.

You acknowledge that you use this Service at your own risk and that any dietary decisions you make based on information from MedMenu are your sole responsibility.

3. Information Accuracy and User Responsibility

While we make every reasonable effort to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of recipes, nutritional information, and other content presented on MedMenu, we cannot guarantee that all information is error-free. Recipes, nutritional data, dietary guidelines, and related information may contain inaccuracies, omissions, or typographical errors.

Nutritional values are calculated estimates based on data from sources including the USDA FoodData Central database and may vary based on actual ingredients used, portion sizes, preparation methods, and other factors. These values should be considered approximations rather than precise measurements.

Nutritional values displayed on MedMenu are best estimates, not precise measurements. Recipe ingredients are described using generally accepted culinary terminology (e.g., "two medium tomatoes," "one cup diced onion," "a clove of garlic"). The size, weight, and nutritional composition of these ingredients vary by region, variety, season, brand, and individual interpretation. MedMenu calculates nutritional values by mapping ingredient descriptions to standardized reference weights and nutrient profiles from the USDA FoodData Central database, a widely recognized and authoritative source. However, the actual nutritional content of any prepared dish may differ materially from the values displayed, depending on the specific ingredients used, their actual weights and measures, preparation and cooking methods, and other variables beyond MedMenu's control. Users should treat all nutritional values as informational approximations and not as guarantees of the exact nutritional content of any prepared meal.

Dietary guidelines referenced in the Service are based on our interpretation of published research and organizational recommendations as of the date of content creation. Medical and nutritional science evolves continuously, and guidelines may change. We encourage users to verify current recommendations with authoritative sources and healthcare providers.

All content on MedMenu — including recipes, meal plans, nutritional analyses, condition-suitability assessments, dietary guidance, modification suggestions, and related information — is derived from publicly available, open-source data sources, including but not limited to the USDA FoodData Central database, and published dietary guidelines from the American Diabetes Association (ADA), American Heart Association (AHA), National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), KDIGO (Kidney Disease: Improving Global Outcomes), the National Kidney Foundation (NKF/KDOQI), the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), the Celiac Disease Foundation, and supporting research from the PREDIMED Trial, DASH Trial, and Cochrane Reviews. Content is generated and compiled using a combination of automated computational methods and human review.

All information is provided "as-is," without warranty of any kind.

While every reasonable effort has been made to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the information presented, all content across the Service — including recipes, nutritional data, condition-suitability assessments, dietary guidance, and any other information — is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of accuracy, completeness, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

MedMenu assumes no responsibility or liability for any adverse consequences, damages, injury, or loss arising from the use of, or reliance upon, any information provided through any feature of this Service. You are solely responsible for verifying ingredient safety, nutritional accuracy, and the suitability of any recipe or dietary information for your individual health needs, allergies, and medical conditions before preparation, consumption, or any dietary decision.

4. Content Generation and Accuracy

MedMenu uses a combination of automated computational tools, algorithmic analysis, and human review to create, analyze, and classify recipes and nutritional content. While we implement quality controls and review processes, content may occasionally contain errors, inconsistencies, or inaccuracies.

Users should exercise their own judgment when using any information provided by the Service and verify critical information independently.

5. Recipe Checker ("Check My Recipe") — Automated Analysis Disclaimer

Recipe analysis results are computationally generated estimates, not verified nutritional assessments.

The "Check My Recipe" feature uses automated computational methods — including natural-language processing, algorithmic ingredient parsing, and database matching — to analyze user-submitted recipes. Nutritional data underlying these analyses is derived from publicly available, open-source databases, including but not limited to the USDA FoodData Central database, published dietary guidelines from the American Diabetes Association (ADA), American Heart Association (AHA), KDIGO, the National Kidney Foundation (NKF/KDOQI), the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), and the Celiac Disease Foundation.

While every reasonable effort has been made to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the information presented, all analysis results are provided on an "as-is" basis, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. MedMenu assumes no responsibility or liability for any consequences arising from the use of, or reliance upon, any information produced by this feature.

Without limiting the foregoing, the recipe analysis feature may:

  • Misidentify, misparse, or fail to recognize ingredients, quantities, or cooking instructions
  • Incorrectly match ingredients to nutritional database entries, resulting in materially inaccurate nutritional values
  • Produce condition-suitability assessments that do not accurately reflect the recipe's actual nutritional profile
  • Generate guidance, modification suggestions, or explanatory text that contains factual errors or unsupported claims
  • Fail to identify allergens, gluten-containing ingredients, or other substances that may be harmful to individuals with specific health conditions

You are solely responsible for independently verifying the accuracy of all recipe analysis results before making any dietary decisions based on such results. MedMenu expressly disclaims any warranty, representation, or guarantee regarding the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any output produced by the recipe analysis feature. No output from this feature constitutes medical advice, nutritional counseling, or a professional dietary assessment.

If you have any medical condition, food allergy, or dietary restriction, you must consult a qualified healthcare professional before relying on any information produced by this feature.

6. Recipe and Culinary Authenticity

MedMenu features recipes inspired by various cultural and regional cuisines. While we endeavor to respect culinary traditions and present recipes that honor their cultural origins, many recipes have been adapted or modified to meet specific dietary requirements or health guidelines.

We do not claim that our recipes are traditionally authentic or representative of any particular culture's culinary heritage in their original form. Adaptations may include ingredient substitutions, modified cooking methods, or adjusted proportions to accommodate health considerations.

Users should use their own discretion and judgment regarding the cultural appropriateness, authenticity, and suitability of recipes for their needs and preferences.

7. Images and Visual Content

All recipe images on MedMenu are representational illustrations.

Images are provided as approximate visual depictions of the described recipes and should not be relied upon as exact representations of ingredients, portion sizes, textures, colors, or final prepared appearance.

MedMenu accepts no liability whatsoever for any inaccuracy or misleading depiction in any image, or for any decision, action, or dietary choice made in reliance on such images. You should exercise your own judgment when interpreting any visual content on this Service.

Differences between images and actual prepared dishes may arise due to variations in ingredients, ingredient brands, preparation methods, cooking equipment, individual cooking techniques, and presentation styles. MedMenu makes no warranty or representation as to the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any image displayed on the Service.

8. Allergies and Dietary Restrictions

While MedMenu provides filtering options for common allergens and dietary restrictions, we cannot guarantee that recipes are completely free from any particular allergen or ingredient. Cross-contamination may occur during food preparation, and ingredient formulations may change without notice.

If you have food allergies, intolerances, or other dietary restrictions, you must carefully review all ingredients before preparing any recipe and consult with a healthcare professional or allergist regarding the safety of specific foods for your condition.

MedMenu is not responsible for allergic reactions or adverse health effects resulting from the preparation or consumption of any recipe.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, MEDMENU AND ITS OWNERS, OPERATORS, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AFFILIATES, AND LICENSORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Personal injury, illness, or adverse health effects
  • Allergic reactions or medical emergencies
  • Worsening of any medical condition
  • Damages arising from dietary choices made based on information from the Service
  • Loss of data, revenue, profits, or business opportunities
  • Any other damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service

This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory upon which damages are sought, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability, or otherwise, even if MedMenu has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR ACCURACY.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free from viruses or other harmful components. We do not warrant that any information provided through the Service is accurate, complete, reliable, current, or error-free.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless MedMenu and its owners, operators, officers, directors, employees, agents, affiliates, and licensors from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to:
